Specimens have long
provided a great way to learn about and enjoy the Animal World. The
great naturalists, Hooke, Darwin, Audubon, and others collected specimens
for their own collections and for museums. Some of the world's best
are in the United States. These include the Smithsonian National
Museum in Washington, D.C., the American Museum of Natural History in New
York, the Carnegie Natural History Museum in Pittsburg, Pa. and the
Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
Individual cannot hope to duplicate such collections, but can
build excellent collections. Not only are they educational, but they
are also a great addition to any decor. Natural Specimens can

Hides,
Furs & Rugs
An Extensive department that focuses on wildlife - the large mammals.
Here you will find Elk and Moose Heads, Steer Horns, Lion Skin Runs, Bear
Skin Rugs and an excellent selection of exotic hides. All are
obtained in accordance with sound preservation practices - either by
controlled herd thinning designed to insure an ample food supply for all,
or by conservation organizations as a means of preserving those in the
wild. |

Butterflies
& Moths
We have many different butterfly collections and a wide
selection of individual specimens. Other
Insects includes collections and individually mounted
specimens - cicadas, dragonflies, grasshoppers and lots more. Are
raised on insect ranches. Not are taken from the wild |

Spiders
& Scorpions
Arthropods are the animals with external skeletons. In addition to
the insects, they include the arachnids (spiders), crustaceans (lobster,
crab, etc) and the scorpion. We've listed the separately to avoid
confusion. |

Mounted
Snakes
Features the giant diamondback rattler of the Old West. These are
available in different styles and sizes. Subject to availability, we
often have mounted Cobras.

Sealife
The most popular item is shark JAWS, and we also have real sharks.
There's lots of other neat things, such as mounted fish (including the
piranha), natural sponges, sea urchins, sea horses, and coral. Many
great decorating pieces.. |

Seashells
/ Mollusks
This is such a large section that it has its own space. Here you'll
find everything from the money cowries to the classic nautilus shells.
Lots of whelks, conchs, spider shells, pecten and more. |
