Leaf Mimics

Great disguise The Leaf Mimic is a flat green insect with a leaf-like appearance, belonging to the family Phylliidae, order Phasmatodema. There are about twenty-five different species.  They range from India to the Fiji Islands and are closely related to the walking stick insects (family Phasmatidae).  They are noted for their ability to blend into their environment.  The picture at left is the same as the one at right, except a leaf background image has been added.   Great disguise
